We tend to get caught up in what is ‘genetic’ or ‘hereditary’. I am always trying to change people’s minds in this regard.

The truth is, while we may be predisposed to certain health outcomes due to our genes, the real reason we tend to suffer from the same symptoms and/or diseases as our parents is because we tend to develop the same habits. When we have the same habits inside of the same gene pool, there is a pretty good chance that we will suffer from the same miserable outcomes.
