I was lucky enough to have Stephanie Greco sub for a class that I took at Shakti Vinyasa Yoga East, and now I can’t keep my mouth shut about her. One of my yoga students (from when I was teaching on the east side) was there, and she introduced Stephanie and I to each other as her two favorite yoga instructors of all time. That was very flattering, but more than that, I was grateful for the introduction to this woman who has an amazing gift to inspire people and ignite a room.
Power vs. Force
What was so powerful about her was that she was so very authentic and led from her personal power, completely connected and present, and not through force. She called us to our center in the beginning of the class by initiating a 2 minute free flow to music with our eyes closed to move the way our bodies wanted and needed to go. She brought her heart to the practice and allowed us to bring ours. She talked about freedom and asked us to let go and find it.
Where do you operate from?
I am a person who operates best from inspiration, and so I am always looking for those experiences that help me to tap into my own innate wisdom and remember that I am a powerful and unique individual with a responsibility to make a difference in the world.
Gratitude Gratitude Gratitude!
I thank Stephanie for the gift of guiding me back to myself and the well-spring within once again. There is something to be learned from any yoga class and any teacher, no matter how you feel in the moment. You can always learn something about how to be the best version of yourself. Having said that, if you can find teachers that inspire and motivate you beyond the classroom, it is a gift that keeps giving.
